Another year is behind me and I am looking into the New Year of 2014. About this time each year I begin to look at the unfinished projects that are stacked in my studio. I have also made a list of them. Last year I attempted to complete one a month. That was interrupted when I took on a part-time project/job for the year. That project is almost completed and I am looking forward to more time to work on my personal projects this year.
Another thing that I want to do is use up my stash. I have joined some of my other quilty friends to make a pledge (well, sort of) not to buy any more fabric unless it is necessary for the completion of a project. Hmmm, we shall see if I keep this promise/pledge to myself.
Here are a few of the projects that come to mind:

I have no idea in what order I will do these projects as well as many others.
So, let's get started!! I will try to post a little more often with progress reports this year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!!!

And the same to you Sandi. I think this is a wonderful idea I am joining you in this venture. My first venture for 2014 is a move and then I will also be taking stock in using allot of what is unfinished and making it finished or donating what I am not interested in any longer (cause I do have a few that well maybe I might not be what I am into any longer..lol). I will be posting a 2014 "attempt" shortly on my blog also. I just seemed to get involved with so much last year and did not get a chance to slow down and enjoy the process to completion and that is another area that I hope to change. Good luck on your venture and I hope to see you in 2014 and maybe we will both be working towards a similar venture. Happy New year!
ReplyDeletePlease do join me, Sharon! I plan to see you often in 2014. Enjoying the process is really what is about. Maybe we could work on this together in our small group. #dancingthruthreads
DeleteI'm smiling as I read and now write ~ ~ How quickly the year can slip away and all of my intentions slipping as well. That's why I like to pause and re-evaluate the next leg of my journey and assess previous projects for continued relevance. I have finally given myself permission to lay some of my earlier projects aside as my interests and skills have changed. Your blog, Sandi, and your blog, Sharon, as well as your shared comments help me to stay fresh with my own journey. Thank you both for all you share and I choose to join you in my desire to complete the meaningful projects and continue to deplete the amazing stash in my quilting corner!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to continued sharing in 2014!!!
Thanks for stopping by, Kara!! Glad you are joining us in the "battle of the unfinished" this year. I just hope you will get a blog going and post your progress along with us.
DeleteYou've a-l-m-o-s-t convinced me !!!
ReplyDeleteOh, come on, now, Kara. You know you want to!!! :-)
