Two days of painting:  one whole roll of blue painter's tape and a gallon of paint later I have two walls completed.  Yep, two coats of paint on both walls.  Love the color!!

The first two walls were the hardest.  I wanted to get the tough stuff out of the way first.  The next two will allow me to use the 6" roller more.  They should go a little faster.

Then to have the carpet cleaned and move the furniture back and get the large sofa exchanged for the love seat that was supposed to be in here all along.  That love seat got sent to the downstairs den a while back for a temporary stay.  The time has come.  I want it back upstairs where it belongs.

The new color makes this piece look so much better.  Here is the before:

Oh, yes, a lot better!

I am liking this more and more!!

    1. Thanks, can't wait for you to see it for real!

  2. Love the new look! I'm impressed that you would do the painting. Don't think I would even try to do it myself!

    1. I told hubby that this may be the last year that I do painting. It has been 5 years since I painted the whole downstairs. I think I will do the dining room and the powder room before the year is out. Then I think I am finished with climbing up and down on a ladder for painting. The foyer, stairway and alcove were painted by a pro because I cannot maneuver a ladder or scaffolding on the stairs. The upstairs has never been painted since we moved here 13 years ago. It has to be done too!!!

  3. I have liked your green walls, but you are right. The new paint color highlights the quilt.

    Love it.

P.S. Do you or anyone else have a tumbling block quilts to put on this blog?

  4. Thanks, Lucy! I will try to find a tumbling blocks quilt on some other blog. I have one ready to cut and then I will write it up on my Blog but that will be at least a month or two.
