I have huge baskets, boxes and bags of scraps. Some have been sorted into color families; some by style; and some by type of fabric.
I picked up the bag of batiks and started Playtime the other day. I just wanted to "make something". I don't have a plan in mind other than to be creative and go at it in an Improv style.
So what happens next??
Put several of these together.
Hmmm, well, I don't know. Let's just put all of them on the design wall and see what it says.
I think it says, "Need more blocks or some strips".
Okay, will take it from here. Stay tuned!
Keep going Sandi- I should be doing that...
ReplyDeleteThis is so relaxing, Reena!! I just started sewing and this all resulted in about a half hour!
DeleteCute Sandi this is what I wanted to do with some of my scraps to make that "Splat" quilt do you remember seeing that? I think it would look great...enjoy your play time.
ReplyDeleteSharon, I do remember seeing that quilt. This is so relaxing and goes fast. I love just reaching into the bag and pulling out whatever is next without a lot of planning.
DeleteI love sewing scraps together like that. I is so fun and free to play with them. I am looking forward to seeing your finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Linda, that this kind of piecing is so freeing. I had the opportunity to share the blocks with Jacquie Gering and she gave me some tips. Can hardly wait to get started!
