WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Why do you think I have never quilted this little hexagon top that I made a while ago?  Because I could not decide what to do.  Take a look at this.
Isn't that interestng?  I love the three dimensional look of those prairie points in the center of this piece.

Then I put it all together to get this.  Now, does it need more cream on each side?  Or, leave it as it is?    Now, how should it be quilted????

Looking for ideas/opinions. . .

  1. I can see it with more cream around it. Maybe quilt each round in a different pattern - wiggly lines connecting heart shaped leaves or flowers. A sampler of wiggly line quilting. Just an idea. I like the dimension in the center too.

    1. thanks for your suggestion, Linda. I am always so prone to straight line quilting that I need prodding to do other things. Wiggly shapes sounds really good. I like the leaves idea, too. Would be a great way to practice a lot of different things, huh??

  2. I would use a 5 or 6 inch side border of white. I'm at a loss as to quilting.

  3. Hey there lady...i don't know if it were me I love the idea of no borders on the side and just putting a binding on it. To me that keeps the dimensional look. As for quilting I like the dimensional look and wonder if stitching in the ditch would keep that for the first 3 centers and then a little meandering around the borders but I think it is a beauty in itself and if you do too much in the quilting arena it may take away from the look of the quilt...jmho

    1. I agree with you, Sharon, that I want it to be about the design and not the quilting. It will grow on me until I decide that's it. Sometimes, I just let these pieces "talk" to me for a while.
