It is now official.  Chattanooga, TN will be hosting AQS Quilt Week on September 10-13, 2014.

I have had the pleasure to be a part of the team (albeit a small part) working on this invitation with the Chattanooga Convention and Visitors' Bureau.
Having AQS bring Quilt Week to Chattanooga makes all of us want to strut and pop our buttons!!  This has been a process that has taken a long time to accomplish.

In February I was invited to participate in the final site visit with Bonnie Browning and her team from Paducah.

The Marriott hung one of my quilts with the Welcome to Chattanooga Banner.

We used small quilt pieces as centerpieces for the tables at the Presentation Dinner welcoming the team to Chattanooga.

There was a quilt display to set the theme for the evening's presentation.

The following morning was a breakfast and the "Needles to the City" were presented to Bonnie Browning by Mayor Jim Coppinger as well as the banner that we had made to ask them to come to our city for the Quilt Show.

My thanks to Debra Nance who did the embroidery for me on this piece.  I could not have done it without her help!

It was indeed our pleasure to have had them visit us and to tour our city and to learn what Chattanooga has to offer visitors.
We are so excited to know that we were chosen to host the AQS Quilt Week in September 2014, 2015, and 2016.
