NAME-DROPPING FROM AQS QUILT WEEK

It was great to meet so many wonderful people at AQS Quilt Week.  There are those that one reads about and sees a name in print often but never has had the opportunity to meet in person.

I met Bonnie Browning earlier when the AQS team came to Chattanooga for the Site Visits.  I had so much fun chatting and laughing with her throughout our week in Grand Rapids.

These were the days when we were inviting them to "Meet Me There" in Chattanooga.

Follow Bonnie on her blog page:  http://www.bonniebrowning.com/

Upon arrival in the Convention Hall, one of the first persons I met was Meredith Schroeder.  She stopped by our table and welcomed us and introduced herself with her daughter, Lynn.  What a gracious lady!

Read more about Meredith at this post.

Lots of vendors were at this show and I met many of them, but I only had my photo taken  with Weeks Ringle.  Check out her blog

Aren't these fabrics luscious?!?

It was a real blast to get to hang out with Jacquie Gering again.
You can get to know Jacquie better by following her blog at

I first met Jacquie at the first Quilt Con in Austin, TX last February.  We simply picked up our friendship as if we had been seeing each other weekly since then.  What a fun-der-ful gal she is!!

And, of course, Bill Kerr was there teaching classes.  His classroom was directly across from our exhibit booth.  He and I were discussing the Modern Quilt Mystery Quilt that he and Weeks Ringle designed.  I was showing him a photo of my version of their pattern.

It was so interesting to discuss the quilt with the designer!  He was complimentary -- of course, he was; he is a gentleman!

Just sharing some of the fun things from the AQS Quilt Week!!

    1. It was exciting but it also makes me aware of the responsibility that goes with it.

  2. Sandi: It was fun to have you in Grand Rapids at AQS QuiltWeek. We will be in Chattanooga, Sept. 10 - 13, 2014... and that time will be here before we know it.

It is fun to see quilters we know, and to meet so many new quilting friends at our events. It is like old home week. What could be better, hundreds of quilts, and thousands of quilters.
